About the Malay Font Generator
Every Unicode style in this generator (bold, italic, cursive, gothic, aesthetic) applies cleanly to every Malay word without any letter dropping or mark loss. Type "selamat datang", "terima kasih", or any Malay phrase and all styles render completely.
Malay is the official language of Malaysia, Brunei, and one of four official languages of Singapore. Instagram and WhatsApp are the two dominant platforms among Malay-speaking users, and a styled name or caption in Bahasa Melayu stands out in a feed where most styled text is in English.

Step by step
How to use the Malay Font Generator
Type your text, pick a style, copy it, and paste it wherever you want Malay fonts.
Type your text
Type or paste your text into the box at the top of the page. Every style updates live as you type, so you are previewing your own words rather than a sample.
Pick a style
Scroll the list and find a style you like. Use the search box to filter by name, or the "only styles people can still search for" toggle if the text needs to stay findable.
Copy it
Press Copy on that style. The styled text goes to your clipboard exactly as shown, including any spacing or marks.
Paste it
Paste it wherever you need it. Because the styling is built from real Unicode characters, it travels with the text into apps that give you no font settings of their own.
Get it right
Tips and common mistakes
Tips
- Because Malay uses only the 26 base Latin letters, every single style works without degradation. This gives you the widest choice of any language on this page.
- Malay prefixes (ber-, me-, pe-) and suffixes (-kan, -an, -nya) attach directly to root words. Styled text preserves this: "berlari" and "berlari" in bold render as a clean continuous word.
- For WhatsApp bio use, the bold double-struck style (𝕞𝕒𝕝𝕒𝕪𝕤𝕚𝕒) and cursive (𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑎) are two of the most recognisable styles in Malay-speaking WhatsApp communities.
Common mistakes
- Malay has two scripts: Rumi (Latin, used here) and Jawi (Arabic-derived). This generator styles Rumi only. Jawi text entered in the input field will not style correctly.
- Do not stylise only part of a compound word. "ber𝓵𝓪𝓻𝓲" (half-styled) looks broken; apply a single style to the whole word or phrase.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Malay and Indonesian, and does it affect which styles work?
Malay and Indonesian share the same Latin alphabet and are mutually intelligible to a large degree, though vocabulary and spelling conventions differ. For this generator, the difference is irrelevant: both use only the 26 base Latin letters and every style applies equally well to both.
Can I use styled Malay text in a Malaysian e-commerce profile?
Yes. Shopee, Lazada, and most Malaysian marketplace platforms render Unicode characters correctly in display names and bio fields. Styled text in a shop name can improve visibility, though keep it readable: one consistent style reads better than several mixed.
Does Jawi script style correctly here?
No. Jawi is an Arabic-derived script and Unicode has no bold, italic, or cursive variants for Arabic letters in the Mathematical Alphanumeric block. Only Rumi (Latin-script) Malay text styles with this generator.
Is the Malay Font Generator free to use?
Yes. The Malay Font Generator is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no limits on how much text you convert or how many times you copy it.
