Marathi Font & Text Generator
Marathi shares its Devanagari script with Hindi, which means it also shares the same technical limit: Unicode has never defined a bold, italic or cursive alphabet for Devanagari. This tool works around that by wrapping a name like नमस्कार in decorative frames and symbol dividers, rather than attempting to restyle letters that were never given a styled version.

Preview real Marathi fonts
Type once and see your words in every Devanagari font below. Marathi and Hindi share the same script, so the same open Unicode faces cover both. Copying gives you the plain Marathi text: a font is applied on your own page, so each open font links to where you can use it, and legacy desktop fonts are marked.

A short guide
Understanding Marathi fonts
What are Marathi fonts?
Marathi is written in the Devanagari script, the same script Hindi and Sanskrit use, so a Devanagari font is a Marathi font. It draws the consonants, the vowel signs (matras) that attach above, below and beside them, and the conjunct letters that form when consonants combine. That combining behaviour makes a good Devanagari font harder to build than a Latin one, and it is why some faces render conjuncts more cleanly than others.
Unicode fonts versus legacy fonts like Shivaji01
This is the most useful thing to know, and most font lists skip it. Shivaji01 and Kiran are legacy fonts common in older Marathi documents; they map Devanagari shapes onto English keyboard positions. The letters look like Marathi, but the text underneath is really Latin characters, so it cannot be searched, cannot be copied reliably between apps, and shows up as nonsense for anyone who does not have that exact font installed.
Unicode fonts such as Noto Sans Devanagari, Hind and Poppins store real Devanagari. The text works everywhere: in search, in messages, on any device. Unless an old workflow specifically needs a legacy font, type in a Unicode font and your Marathi will behave like Marathi rather than like a picture of it.
Serif or sans for Marathi?
Serif faces such as Noto Serif Devanagari and Tiro Devanagari Hindi carry more of a print feel and suit body text and traditional documents. Sans faces such as Hind, Mukta and Poppins are even and clean, which reads better in interfaces, on signage and on small screens. Display faces like Rozha One and Yatra One are for headings and posters, not paragraphs.
Which Marathi font should I choose?
It depends on what you are setting. This table pairs common needs with a free, open Unicode face:
| If you are setting | A good open choice |
|---|---|
| Headings and posters | Rozha One or Yatra One |
| Body text and articles | Noto Serif Devanagari or Tiro Devanagari Hindi |
| Apps, websites and signage | Hind, Mukta or Poppins |
| A friendly, handwritten note | Kalam |
If an old document forces you to use a legacy font like Shivaji01, install it on your computer. For anything new, a Unicode font will serve you better everywhere the text has to travel.
About the Marathi Stylish Name Generator
That shared script also means shared fonts: further down the page, the Devanagari font families you can preview, from traditional serifs to modern sans, are the same free, verified set used on the Hindi page, so the gallery here is larger than a Marathi-only site could offer.

Step by step
How to use the Marathi Stylish Name Generator
Type your text, pick a decorated version, copy it, and paste it wherever you want stylish Marathi names.
Type your text
Type or paste your text into the box at the top. Every decorated version updates live as you type, so you are looking at your own words rather than a sample.
Pick a version you like
Each result is a different treatment: a frame around the text, a line through it, an underline, and more. Pick whichever one fits.
Copy it
Press Copy on that version. It goes to your clipboard exactly as shown, including every symbol and combining mark.
Paste it
Paste it into your bio, caption, or name field. Because it is built from real Unicode, the decoration travels with the text into apps with no font settings of their own.
Or browse the font families
Further down the page is a gallery of real fonts in this script. Those are previews to look at rather than copy-paste Unicode, with a link to each font if you want to use it in a design tool.
Get it right
Tips and common mistakes
Tips
- Marathi uses Devanagari, the same script as Hindi, so the same framing rules apply: simple bracket frames work most reliably in Free Fire, WhatsApp, and Instagram Name.
- If your Marathi name includes the halant to form consonant clusters, test the frame in the target app to confirm the conjuncts display as intended: some apps render Devanagari conjuncts differently at small sizes.
- Strikethrough and underline effects work on Marathi text just as they do on Latin, since they are combining marks that attach to any script.
Common mistakes
- Looking for a bold or cursive Devanagari font to substitute letters: none exists in Unicode, and any site that shows one is using images rather than real text you can copy and paste.
- Using a very long decorative frame for a game name: Free Fire's character limit is around 14 and PUBG Mobile's is similar, so a name with three frame symbols on each side can leave room for only one or two Devanagari characters.
- Expecting Instagram or Facebook's @handle field to accept a Marathi name with frames: handles are restricted to Latin characters and will strip or reject anything else.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make my Marathi name bold or italic?
Not by changing the letters, because Unicode has no bold or italic Devanagari alphabet to swap them for. You can frame the name with symbols, or add strikethrough and underline, which are the effects that work on Devanagari. The font gallery below also previews your text in real Marathi typefaces.
Will these Marathi names work on Instagram and Facebook?
Yes, in the Name and Bio fields, which accept any Unicode, so a framed Marathi name pastes straight in. They will not go in an Instagram @username, which is limited to Latin letters, numbers, full stops and underscores.
What is the difference between a Unicode Marathi font and Shivaji01?
Shivaji01 is a legacy font, widely used in older Marathi print and government documents, that maps Devanagari shapes onto English keyboard positions, so the text underneath is really Latin and cannot be searched or copied reliably between apps. Unicode fonts store real Devanagari, so the text works everywhere. The guide below explains this in full.
Is Marathi the same script as Hindi?
Yes. Both are written in Devanagari, so a font built for Hindi displays Marathi correctly too, and this page reuses the same verified Devanagari font set shown on the Hindi page below.
Is the Marathi Stylish Name Generator free to use?
Yes. The Marathi Stylish Name Generator is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no limits on how much text you convert or how many times you copy it.
