What PUBG Mobile Blocks

PUBG Mobile’s name filter blocks certain characters and character patterns. The documented restrictions include:

  • Names composed entirely of non-ASCII characters with no recognizable Latin letters are sometimes blocked by the profanity and pattern filter, because the filter cannot parse them for offensive content
  • Names that begin with a space or certain zero-width characters may be rejected at validation

PUBG Mobile vs PUBG PC

PUBG PC uses Steam usernames, which follow Steam’s rules: Unicode characters are allowed in Steam display names and appear in PUBG PC lobbies, but the underlying Steam ID is distinct from the display name. Name changes in PUBG PC are handled through Steam account settings, not through the game itself.
